4 tips on how to get glowing and beautiful skin with essential oils

4 tips on how to get glowing and beautiful skin with essential oils

Essential Oils are so much more than pretty smells that you diffuse, or that you clean with. They are also magic for the skin.
Staying away from toxic chemicals and fragrances are important as the skin is the body’s largest organ and it absorbs what you put on it.

Making sure that you choose pure, and plant based essential oils is important. My choice of essential oil brand is Young Living as they have just that; pure and plant-based essential oils.

Here are some of my favourite essential oils for the skin and how I use them

Frankincense
I use Frankincense to moisturise my face. I have and spend lots of time in the sun and Frankincense is magic for this. I put a little bit of Frankincense in my natural moisturiser – it’s also so easy to make one yourself. Just because a product is costly, does not mean it’s better than something much more affordable. Even just using a little bit of jojoba or Coconut oil with Frankincense does miracles.

Lavender
Some of the favourite ways for me to use Lavender is to add it to a cleanser as it helps with reducing appearance of blemishes and it opens the pores. It also gives me that fresh morning boost.
Adding Lavender to a hot bath is my favourite way to relax.

Geranium
This is one of my favourite smells. I absolutely love it. I love making and using Facial Serums  and it’s so easy to make. I just blend three tablespoons of jojoba oil and 10 drops of Geranium essential oil. This naturally fights  dry, dull skin and it helps me feel and looking youthful.

Tea Tree
Facial steaming is incredible. Yes it may take a little longer time, so perhaps you want to do it on the weekend. I recommend that you heat four cups and pour it in a bowl with six drops of Tea Tree. Tea tree is soothing for the skin, and it opens up the pores. I find the skin becomes radiant, smoother and younger-looking.

Spiritual Awakening

Spiritual Awakening

Have you ever wondered what spiritual awakening mean? And do you think you are or have gone through an awakening process?

So firstly; how can spiritual awakening be described.. well, I would describe it as a call to higher consciousness and a deeper mental awareness. It is a process that brings about personal transformation and a shift in one's world view.

Going through a spiritual awakening can be one of the most confusing, lonely, scary but also a very beautiful experience in life.

So what causes a spiritual awakening?
For many it's brought on by a life changing event. such as a traumatic experience that has a huge impact on our physical and emotional wellbeing. This event is often followed by a long period of healing. It could be from example a traumatic experience  such as significant surgery, surviving an accident  or serious abuse. It could be brought on by major life changing events that has the potential to change the entire course of your life such as divorce, death of aloved one, a "plandemic" or a serious illness.

It can also be brought on by a Near Death Experience. Experiencing such a profound event can transforms one's outlook on life. It can be brought on by what we know as the an existential crisis - also known as the Dark Night of the soul. During an existential crisis, an individual begins to question the meaning and purpose of life.

We can also go through a natural awakening This is an involuntary process of awakening. It takes place after engaging in a practice that produces a shift in conscious awareness.

Practices that can activate a greater conscious awareness are:
Mindfulness, Meditation, Yoga, Connecting with nature or animals for example

So, Spiritual Awakening is different for everyone. Everyone's experience is unique although and what you may experience might be something like this..

You might start to feel disconnected from the world. You may develop an awareness of your ego and that it is separate from yourself and acknowledge that there is greater energy at work within this universe - something is larger than yourself.

I'd love to hear if you have or are going through a Spiritual Awakening and what you are experiencing. Please comment below.

When did you last leave your comfort zone?

When did you last leave your comfort zone?

The comfort zone is the place where we don't have to do anything new or different. It's a place where we feel comfortable and our abilities are not being tested. It is a psychological state in which individuals feel safe. When we are in the comfort zone we know what to expect and we know how to react. Our needs are filled in the comfort zone and we can feel at peace.

It's easy to stay where we are comfortable but have you ever asked yourself if that is the best place to be?
You see there are many good reasons and benefits from stepping out of your comfort zone.

Here are just a 6 reasons and benefits of leaving your comfort zone
  1. It makes you grow and discover a sense of self - when learning new ways of doing something we have the opportunity to grow and develop a sense of self. We also get the experience different perspectives.
  2. It exercises your mind! By learning to do new things we are creating new pathways in our brain.
  3. You become more confident and brave. Once you understand the emotions that come with stepping outside your comfort zone, you become more confident. You understand the process and it becomes more familiar to you. As you trust yourself in leaving the comfort zone you will build yourself up and become brave.
  4. You personally grow. You will learn a new skill and that will benefit you in so many ways.
  5. It can change your life! It  can open new doors to experiences and possibilities that otherwise may have never appeared.
  6. You can find a new hobby which you love. Are there any activities that you’ve always wanted to try, but for some reason, you never have? Your comfort zone may have caused you to not try the new activity.
I decided to leave my comfort zone a few years ago when I decided that I wanted to learn to paddle a Surfski in the ocean. I had never paddled before at all, and certainly not in the ocean.
Surf skis are not easy to balance in! That certainly made me leave my comfort zone. I had to learn a new skill which challenged me. I also had to leave my comfort zone by being in the ocean. My biggest fear used to be deep water and what's in the ocean! That was another big step for me. I am so glad I decided to leave my comfort zone and learn how to Surfski. It's given be so much! New skills, more confidence, new friendships, the opportunity to travel to new places, to see wildlife, to relax from everyday stresses and more.

Last week I contacted the Mooloolaba Paddling club to see if I could go paddling with someone there. I have now been out a couple of times with people there. I did not just get to meet more people - I also get to challenge myself more by paddling further out in the ocean (about 400 meters out) and in messy, windy conditions with pretty big swell. I feel proud of myself for challenging myself once again.

Why don't you take the "chance" to try something new - it might give you so many gifts.

Below is a little video from my paddling session.

Rowing and Pilates - a great combination

Rowing and Pilates - a great combination

Today I got to experience a new type of  exercise class at a fitness centre here on the Sunshine Coast. It's called STRONG PILATES and is a combination of rowing on the Concept2 Rowing machine and doing strength work on the Pilates reformer.

That combination is my favourite and what I love doing. Bringing rowing and pilates into one session was great. It was challenging but I worked at my level. I have been missing my own Concept 2 Rowing machine and my Pilates reformer that is back in Victoria. I feel great after doing this session. It was not only the body craving movement. My mind was craving exercise too. I needed to get out of my head and into my body.
There been so much happening lately. Movement was the best medicine. Tomorrow is going be even more awesome than today!

So, my suggestion to you is, if you are feeling stressed, anxious, lost and not the best, stop for the moment and do some exercise. Get into your body and out of your mind. It will guaranteed make you feel much better!

Share how exercise has benefited you in the comments below.

Have an awesome day!

The morning I met George

The morning I met George
During my travel up the East Coast of Australia I explored many places I had never been before. One of my favourite place to explore is the beach. This particular morning on my "Great Wellness Reset" journey I was walking on the beach at South West Rocks.  South West Rocks is a town located on the Mid North Coast of New South Wales in Australia. This beautiful little place is known for its picturesque Norfolk pines, family-friendly atmosphere, intriguing colonial heritage and exceptional diving.

As I was watching the amazing sunrise I had a man coming up to me to ask if he could take some photos of me whilst I was enjoying the sunrise. He said that one of his passion is to take photos of photos of people going on about life and enjoying the outdoors. I said of course he can take some photos.  After he'd done that we started talking as we walked along the beach. We had such a nice conversation about life, wellness and how to keep balanced in life.

I love talking to people who have learnt through experiences, life challenges and life itself  and as George was sharing I understood he had a lot of all of that plus having lived soon 80 years. As we parted I took a photo of George and myself and I said; one day I'd like you to share your knowledge about the keys to living a balanced life.

Well that day arrived, I "interviewed" or more so I had a heartfelt conversation with George the 27th of June 2022.
I just loved hearing his story, his tips on how to keep life balanced and lots more.
The title of the Podcast is "The Key to a Balanced Life"

I help people create wellness, abundance and to find their soul purpose

For years, I felt like I was pushed to my limits, not just physically but also mentally and emotionally. I believed that I was really all alone in my struggles and felt quite isolated.
The physical and emotional pain I experience was at times overwhelming.

Even thought I was living a healthy lifestyle, eating healthy food, exercising and doing meditation.  I was still lacking in energy and experienced pain. I really believed that I was doing everything to improve my situation. And one day that all changed when I was introduced to some products.
To be honest, I had used similar products before, so naturally I was very sceptical, but given that the person who introduced me to these was also working in the wellness field, just like myself - I took a leap of faith and decided to give them a go, after all what did I have to lose!

Since then my life has transformed, not on just a physical level, but also a mental, emotional and spiritual level. I get emotional just thinking about it all now and feel so incredibly blessed and grateful for this gift that was presented to me.
Now, I am living a life full of abundant wellness, I love my soul purpose and I am able to create abundance in life.

I am now on a mission to create more empowered well-beings in the world and to share with you my learnings!

I welcome you to join our group of empowered well-beings and learn how you can also find freedom and ultimate wellness, just as I have,  with the knowledge and information we share amongst our exclusive and loving community.
